Hello Walkers,
Today we’re heading out for a winter walk through Missoula, Montana—a beautiful city tucked right into the Rocky Mountains. It’s actually one of the largest cities in the state, but still has that small-town charm and a really welcoming feel.
On this walk, we make our way through the University of Montana campus. I name quite a few of the buildings as we go along, but if you’re curious to learn more, I definitely recommend checking out the university’s website and campus map. There’s a lot of interesting history and architecture here.
As we head north, we make our way to the Clark Fork River and cross over the footbridge there—it’s one of my favorite spots in town. The scenery along the river is really something, especially on a sunny winter day like this one.
Missoula’s got a nice mix of tree species. Within the city, you’ll find a lot of decorative hardwoods that put on a colorful show in the fall, but once you’re out in the surrounding areas, it’s all about the ponderosa pines. I’ve always had a soft spot for them—tall, strong, and that warm, vanilla smell when the sun hits them just right.
This winter walk is a great way to get moving—especially if you’re stuck indoors or looking for an alternative to the usual news and drama during your workout. I really believe walks like these can help make cardio time fly by.
