In today’s virtual treadmill walking tour, we explore the heart of Downtown Billings, Montana, on a chilly and blustery day that kept most folks indoors. But that just meant I had the sidewalks mostly to myself, giving us the perfect chance to take in the atmosphere of this historic and growing Western city at our own pace.
Billings is the largest city in Montana and serves as a regional hub for commerce, food, and culture. On this walk, we wind through the downtown district, passing by local hotels, cafés, and office buildings, and get a sense of the city’s rhythm—even on a quiet winter day.
We stroll past several popular restaurants and breweries, including Last Chance Pub & Cider Mill, known for its Montana-grown ciders and rustic-chic vibe; Uberbrew, a local favorite for craft beer lovers; The Sassy Biscuit Co., which offers elevated comfort food and brunch classics; and the award-winning Burger Dive, which has earned national attention for its creative takes on the classic American burger. Even though the streets were a bit empty due to the weather, the warmth of these establishments still comes through.
