Edinburgh, Scotland Botanical Gardens and Dean Village – Virtual City Tour
Hello Walkers,
In today’s extended virtual treadmill travel walk, we return to the beautiful and historic city of Edinburgh, Scotland for one of the longer walks I’ve filmed—just over an hour of immersive scenery and calm exploration. This walk begins in the lush and peaceful grounds of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, a true urban oasis and one of my favorite spots in the city. We meander through its serene paths, under towering trees and past tranquil ponds, enjoying a quiet start to our day.
From there, we follow the Water of Leith, a gentle stream that winds its way through the heart of Edinburgh, leading us toward one of the city’s most iconic hidden gems: Dean Village. Tucked away in a steep-sided valley, Dean Village looks like something from a storybook, with its charming stone buildings, cobblestone paths, and picturesque bridges. It’s no surprise that this peaceful neighborhood has become one of the most photographed spots in the city—and yes, a favorite for Instagrammers.
Despite its popularity, Dean Village maintains a tranquil atmosphere that contrasts beautifully with the buzz of the city center just a short walk away. This walk captures some of the best of Edinburgh’s natural beauty, historical architecture, and quieter corners, perfect for a treadmill workout, meditative viewing, or virtual travel break.
