The Virtual Walking Video for Treadmill
Hello Walkers,
I’m back in Bozeman, Montana today, and as you can probably tell—it’s another snowy one. That said, it’s relatively warm by Montana winter standards, sitting right around 27°F (or about -3°C). So yes, it’s still cold, and the snow’s coming down, but at least it’s not below zero today.
I start this walk at the north end of Montana State University, right at the corner of 11th and College, where the traffic circle is. That roundabout has really been a great addition over the years—it’s helped ease traffic flow and cut down on accidents. It used to be a bit chaotic back in the day.

As I head east, you’ll see a few new shops and restaurants off to the left, mixed in with some old favorites. Colombo’s Pizza has been around a long time—it’s your classic college-town pie and pint kind of place. Right nearby is Joe’s Parkway Market, another Bozeman staple. It’s a small market with your everyday essentials, plus some higher-end specialty items. Not too far past that is the Pickle Barrel—a great little sandwich and ice cream shop that’s been feeding locals and students alike for years.
After that, I take a left and head north up 8th Avenue. It’s a divided street, and I’ve always loved the view down this straight stretch, especially when the trees are coated in snow. It’s got that quiet, postcard feel to it.
A little farther along, I loop into the South Side neighborhood and make my way down to Cooper Park. It’s a beautiful little community park—lots of tall trees, a relaxed vibe, and it doubles as a popular off-leash dog park. Just a quick reminder if you ever visit: be sure to keep an eye on your pup and, of course, clean up after them.
As I reach Main Street, I pass the Lewis and Clark Motel with its retro mid-century modern sign. Honestly, I’m not quite sure how this place stays in business or why it hasn’t been updated, but there’s something charming about its old-school look.
From there, I head east again down Main Street. There’s plenty of traffic and quite a few construction projects happening—new buildings going up, and I’ll point out some of the newer finished ones a bit farther along. Downtown Bozeman still has a lot of character, and while there are a few more chain stores creeping in, the overall vibe hasn’t gone too corporate yet.
