Livingston, Montana Winter Virtual Treadmill Virtual Vacation after snow storm
Hello Walkers,
After a week of heavy snow and sub-zero temperatures, I finally got a break in the weather and took the chance to lace up my boots and bring you along on a fresh walking tour through a true winter wonderland. We’ve had about two feet of snow fall recently, and this morning’s walk shows the aftermath—snow piled high, trees frosted white, and everything blanketed in that peaceful, quiet hush that only a big storm can bring.
I’ve been a bit limited on walk locations lately as I’ve been focused on other projects, and honestly, the weather’s been a bit brutal. But I couldn’t pass up this opportunity to share the beauty of Montana after a blizzard. The light was soft, the air still, and while the snow was deep, it made for some stunning 4K winter treadmill scenery.Now, fair warning—at around the 2-minute mark, I hit a slick patch of ice hidden beneath the snow and took a bit of a spill. My first thought was for the camera, which thankfully survived intact. My back? Well, that’s still up for debate. But that’s the risk we take to bring you along on these adventures, right?
The good news is that our snowpack is now at 110% of normal, which is a great sign for water levels and agriculture heading into spring. It’s been years since we had this kind of accumulation. In fact, this storm was so intense that they closed schools in our area for the first time in over 30 years—and that’s saying something. In Montana, we usually don’t shut down for snow, no matter how much we get.
This was a shorter walk, but a special one. There’s something magical about fresh snow, and I hope this walk captures a little of that feeling—whether you’re getting your steps in on the treadmill or just soaking up the views from the warmth of home.
