Today’s virtual treadmill walk wraps up our time in beautiful Innsbruck, Austria, with a peaceful morning stroll that captures the charm of this alpine university town. We begin our journey in the serene Innsbrucker Hofgarten, a historic public park that dates back to the 15th century. With its tree-lined paths, sculptures, and bursts of fall color, it’s the perfect place to start a crisp autumn walk.
From there, we wander through a quiet residential neighborhood—one of my favorite ways to explore a city. While tourist attractions are great, everyday streets often give you a more authentic sense of local life. Along the way, we pass a few horse-drawn carriages waiting to take visitors on scenic rides through the old town—a nostalgic touch that adds to the atmosphere.
Our walk finishes at the Hans-Psenner-Steg, a beautiful covered wooden footbridge that spans the Inn River. The soft sound of the water below and the sight of the surrounding mountains make this spot feel like a scene out of a storybook. Innsbruck is truly surrounded by stunning alpine views, and they seem to follow you wherever you go in the city.
