Virtual Walking Tour to Pine Creek Falls in Autumn
We’ve done this walk before in different seasons. It may seem repetitive but I like to try and notice the changes over the seasons and years. Today I start you out near the campground and take a new (to me) spur up to the trailhead.
It’s the busiest trail in the valley and for good reason. Just past the trailhead, I enter a section with an old burn off to the left. It gives us a good view of new trees with their autumn colors and the sun hitting the cliffs of the north side of the canyon.
I pass “slide rock” where our kids used to slide down. They felt a huge thrill and it’s a great memory to see how small it actually is. From there I go along a straight way and reach the bridge over Pine Creek. I love sound of the rushing water and colors of the stones through the clear stream.
Eventually, I make it to the actual falls after rising up above the main creek. The falls have several others enjoying its beauty and after a brief look around, I continue up the trail to try to give you a view up the canyon.
