Hello Walkers, today we’re out on the edge of Denver, right up against the foothills, exploring one of the most iconic music venues in the country—Red Rocks Amphitheater. It’s been 25 years since I last saw a show here, and not much has changed… which is a good thing. I thought it was time to come back and take you on a walking tour of this amazing spot.
Red Rocks is a breathtaking place to catch live music, surrounded by these massive red sandstone formations and wide open views looking out over the city. The vibe here is just something else—natural beauty, great acoustics, and a real sense of history.
Speaking of history, the City of Denver bought this land back in 1927. Construction on the amphitheater began in 1936, and it officially opened to the public in June of 1941. Since then, it’s become a legendary spot for performers and audiences alike.
The walk today includes some steep steps and seating areas—plus a few icy patches—but I made it through in one piece. It’s a bit of a workout, but worth every step.
