In today’s walk, we’re exploring the charming coastal city of Astoria, Oregon—one of the Pacific Northwest’s most historic and scenic gems. This is the second video in our Oregon Coast series, and I’m excited to take you along the riverwalk path that follows the edge of the Columbia River. Astoria sits right where the Columbia meets the Pacific Ocean, and you can feel the maritime history in the salty air and see it in the beautiful old Victorian architecture throughout town.

This classic port city has a unique character, with colorful houses perched on hillsides, working docks, and a vibrant downtown full of history. Film buffs might recognize Astoria as the hometown of The Goonies, but it’s also been featured in several other movies. Like many coastal towns, Astoria has had its ups and downs, but there’s an energy here that suggests a real comeback—it feels alive and proud of its past while leaning into the future.
