Livingston Montana USA – Mallards Rest Virtual Treadmill Scenery Walk
Hello Walkers,
It’s the beginning of April, and today I’m taking you on a chilly but beautiful walk down to the Yellowstone River as we explore the Mallards Rest Fishing Access site, just south of Livingston, Montana. There’s still plenty of snow on the ground, but surprisingly, not much wind today—which is rare for this time of year. Winter usually brings strong gusts through Paradise Valley, so this calm morning felt like a gift.
As we walk, the towering Absaroka Mountains stretch out to the east, while the Gallatin Range rises to the west, framing the wide, open valley. The Yellowstone River winds gently northward toward Livingston, its surface cold and quiet under the grey sky. There’s a stark, quiet beauty to winter here—an austere stillness that feels both peaceful and powerful.
This stretch of Montana may look familiar if you’re a fan of the show Yellowstone, since it’s set right around these parts—the fictional home of the Duttons isn’t far from where we’re walking today.
