Vail Village Winter Walking Tour – Walking Trails for Treadmill – 4K City Walks Virtual Walk
Hello Walkers!
I’ve explored the villages of Vail, Colorado in the fall, but I knew I had to come back and experience it in winter—and bring you along for the journey. Despite the unique challenges of 2020, the town still had plenty of visitors soaking in that crisp mountain air and alpine charm. I filmed this walk on a Monday to dodge the biggest crowds and give us the chance to really take it all in.
We begin at the western edge in Lionshead Village, home to luxury hotels, inviting restaurants, cozy fire pits, pools, spas, and even a playground or two. From there, we stroll eastward along the scenic path beside the creek, making our way into the heart of Vail Village. This walking trail between the two villages offers moments of surprising solitude, even during the height of ski season. It’s a peaceful and refreshing way to see the area—especially if you’re joining me for a treadmill workout or some virtual travel time.
Along the way, you’ll see ski lifts, high-end condos and vacation homes, gear shops, rentals, cafés, bars, and plenty of après-ski energy. Vail sits at about 8,000 feet, so if you feel like you’re getting a little extra workout—you’re not imagining it!
