Today’s video invites you to step into the wild heart of Montana with a stunning 50-minute narrated virtual hike along the Hogback Trail, located just south of Livingston, MT. This 4K walking trail video takes you up to a beautiful ridgeline where the Paradise Valley unfolds below in all its wide-open glory, framed by the towering Absaroka Mountains and kissed by the winds of Big Sky Country.
This particular trail is one of my favorites for getting a sense of space and solitude. As we climb gently along the hogback ridge, the land seems to stretch forever in all directions. Sweeping panoramic views greet us from nearly every turn—grasslands, snow-dusted peaks, and the snaking Yellowstone River in the valley below. The trail itself follows an undulating spine of land, sometimes narrow and windswept, sometimes passing through quiet patches of pine and juniper.
Throughout the walk, I’ve included light narration, sharing bits of trail info, natural history, and a few personal thoughts on this powerful landscape. The sounds of nature—rustling grasses, bird calls, and the whisper of wind—provide a peaceful backdrop for the journey.
