Hello Walkers,
I’ve been a big believer in slow travel for a long time—it’s how my family and I have explored the world since way back in 2016 (well… up until that recent global pause we all lived through). There’s something really special about taking your time with a place. Not rushing from one big attraction to the next, but instead moving at a gentler pace—wandering side streets, pausing at quiet corners, and letting the experience unfold naturally.
Slow travel gives you the chance to notice the little things. A faded mural on the side of a building, the way light filters through the trees in a city park, or the sound of a local musician warming up down a quiet alley. It’s those unexpected discoveries—the ones that don’t show up in a guidebook—that really make a trip memorable.
Now, I don’t usually dive deep into research before my walks. There are plenty of great resources out there if you’re looking for history, facts, or logistics. But for me, part of the magic is showing up and just seeing what reveals itself. Every walk is a bit of an adventure, and I love sharing those unscripted moments with you.
This morning, I had planned to hit a nearby nature trail, but as I looked out at the low clouds and saw that soft, golden morning light breaking through, I felt the pull to go somewhere familiar instead—and look at it with fresh eyes. So, we started from a place we’ve walked before and let curiosity guide the route. And it turned out to be a beautiful, peaceful stroll with some stunning views.
