Ponderosa State Park Hike Idaho – Virtual Walking Trails for Treadmill Scenery

TravelingMel is filming for us again. The massive trees of Ponderosa State Park, ID tower over us as we walk this quiet, contemplative trail. Ponderosas are a very large pine tree species of variable habitat native to mountainous regions of western North America. It is the most widely distributed pine species in North America.

Our Public lands are so valuable, and getting into nature has proven beneficial effects for our mental and physical health. Without them, we are confined. Open public wild spaces are part of the American identity and culture.

The smell and size of Ponderosas comfort us, especially as we listen to the breeze through their long thin needles. The sounds of a forest can make us feel so relaxed. On this walk,  you will also get some great views of Payette lake which is a reservoire. Ponderosa State park lies just outside of McCall, Idaho. McCall sits in the mountains north of Boise and is a resort town with some good restaurants and hotels. We’ve done a wintertime walk there as well (see link above) but now it’s summer and the living is easy. We hope you enjoy this warm weather walking exercise amble through the magnificent trees.
