The only big white water we have on the Yellowstone is Yankee Jim Canyon. It can be gnarly or a lot of fun. Take a ride!

VR Float of Yankee Jim Canyon on the Yellowstone River at ~2900CFS

It’s a VERY dry year this year and the Yellowstone River is much lower than normal for this season. We float the notorious Yankee Jim Canyon in rafts and a kayak. At this level, we need to be careful but it’s a pretty basic set of rapids that are super fun but not particularly challenging. If you hear us yelling “Ruthie”, it’s because the young (but very large) dog leapt from a boat ahead of us just before Box Car rapid 11:40 and we spotted her on the bank. We pulled over and got her back safely but she was howling when we reached her out of worry.
We pull over a bit further down an jump off a cliff and then again later in the day to jump off of Carbella Bridge.
