4K City Walks: St Petersburg Tours Russia Morning – Virtual Walk Walking Treadmill Video

Today I take you on a morning walk in the old capital of Russia; A city of canals and boulevards, onion domes and culture. St. Petersburg stands as a wonderful city on the baltic and you can go visa free if you take a St Petergburg cruise like we did. On this St Petersburg tour we walk by St. Isaacs Cathedral and discover that we lucked into the annual Russia Navy Day celebrations over by the Hermitage Museum which includes the Winter Palace. We also find a couple of very nice parks and couple of canals in the evening light. As a family we took a two hour guided tour, one of many great activities in this old capital of the tsars. St Petersburg walking tours provide lots of options because the city has so much to see and do. I couldn’t get over all the beautiful buildings and wonderful architecture. The food was very good and affordable as well. Just walking around the city built by czars makes for great fantasy. The Hermitage Museum takes the most prominence, including six buildings along the palace embankment but you don’t need to do that if you are stretched for time.
They Navy Day celebration included many ships in the river, lots of current navy and veterans with their families, and even a visit by President Vladimir Putin. The crowds surprised me a bit and I didn’t quite know what was going on until later but I like that aspect of travel sometimes. Sometimes we discover national celebrations, and other times we may just find an enjoyable bit of architecture or cafe. Sometimes we meet interesting people or get a view that you can’t find in the guide books. -Henry
