Let’s take a walk through Montana’s autumn Colors. We’ve done this walk before but it’s been a few years since we did one in fall.

The colors of fall in Montana light up the landscape

We’ll start up on the bench above Livingston, MT with views of the town across the Yellowstone River. At this point, we also get some nice views of the Absarokas and the Crazy Mountains. You can see the high altitude snow we’ve already gotten.

Virtual Walking in nature lowers stress

We take the Old Meyers River Road / Old Swingley Road down to the river and look south to see the Wine Glass area and talk about how it got that name. From there we start the Meyers River View Trail and into the massive glowing orange cottonwood trees. The cottonwoods and willows have a sweet riparian smell to them and the calls of sparrows are drowned out by the geese flying overhead.

On this section, we run into quite a few people walking their dogs and get some glimpses of side channels and the farm that raises cattle to the east. I love filming virtual walks like this. It gets me out in the outdoors and it’s fun to share our little town with you.

One thing I didn’t mention was that the night before, the town had and Oktoberfest block party with a couple thousand people getting food and drinks from the surrounding restaurants and bars. I saw a few people in liederhosen and drindles. Super fun community event.

I hope you enjoyed this virtual nature walk. Keep on Steppin’ -Henry
