I love Zagreb. The city has so much to offer in both summer and winter.

Zagreb, Croatia Virtual Treadmill Walking Tour – 4K – City Walks

Zagreb is the Croatian capital city and is filled with stunning 18th century Austro-Hungarian architecture. Upper Town is the site of the Gothic, twin-spired Zagreb Cathedral and 13th-century St. Mark’s Church, with a colorfully tiled roof, as seen in the video thumbnail. While the area has been occupied since the days of ancient Rome, the name Zagreb only dates back a mere thousand years to 1094 AD. That historical longevity is evident as we walk around the city.

Our first trip to Zagreb, back in 2016, was for Advent Market but we didn’t film a walk then. The market had been voted best in Europe and I’d highly recommend a visit to that in December.

Returning in the summer reminded me how much I like this City. We start our walking tour at the cathedral and make our way over to Gradec, down to Trg Ban Jelicic, along the parks to the train station. The Croation language may look strange to our western eyes, but the people were wonderful. Zagreb is a beautiful, vibrant, artistic city with a wonderful cafe culture and many great sights. It’s one of the places I would like to return to for an extended visit. Unfortunately, a couple years ago a large earthquake struck the city doing severe damage. While the major historical sites are still there, I’m not sure how different it would be. However, I’m a big fan of the city and encourage you to visit if you get the chance. Keep on steppin’ -Henry
