Let’s Walk around the famous Breckenridge Colorado Resort in Winter. Back in the 90’s I skied here once or twice.  I was living in Denver at the time. I’d forgotten how small the little town really is. I was also surprised at how it isn’t particularly built up and overly crowded. It could just be the day. Also, it’s a bit harder to get to than the ski resorts along the I-70 corridor. Still it looks like an amazing place for family Fun.

Breckenridge Colorado Winter Virtual Walking Tour

I really enjoyed Breckenridge, both the town and resort. It’s a really quaint but busy ski town with that classic ski town ambience. The resort itself has plenty of lifts and terrain. More impressively, the town sits way up at around 9000 feet of elevation. It’s UP there. Even though I visited on a Monday, plenty of people were in town hitting the slopes. That said, the lift lines looked pretty short.

I started at the ski area parking (one of many, pay by app). I then take you to one of the base areas with a primary lift, then down through downtown’s main street. We pass lots of great old buildings grandfathered in and seemingly immune to mega-resort tendencies. From there we go back up a block into a quieter semi residential section before heading back down to main street. We pass lots of great shops, restaurants, hotels serve the area and it’s really not far from I-70 but far enough to feel like you aren’t in a traffic zone. It has a special vibe that is family friendly but still fun and laid back. I’d like to go back and see it in summer and maybe take my bike. Have you been to Breckenridge?

I hope you enjoy these virtual walks and treadmill scenery videos. I really do mean it when I say how much I enjoy reading your comments. Also, remind me if I forget to follow through with one of the things I say I’m going to do in the walks. Thanks and keep on Steppin’ -H
