Take a nature walking trail hike in California!
The Virtual Treadmill Walking Trail:
Walking Rainbow Falls Trail towards Devil’s Postpile Along San Joaquin River – 4K California Walk
Ready for an easy hike in California’s sierras. This is a good one. Something about the Sierras just draws me in. Maybe it’s the exposed rock or the wind in the ponderosas but I loved this trail
We are taking you from the beautiful Rainbow Falls (I mistakenly call it Fairy Falls in the beginning of the walk, got confused with an earlier walk in Yellowstone) and proceed towards the Devil’s Postpile formation in this virtual nature walk. Rainbow falls makes for dramatic viewing and the walk starts with a great top side look of this 101 foot cascade.

We are near Mammoth Lakes in California which is close to Yosemite and Bodie Ghost Town State Park. While we didn’t venture over to Yosemite, we did film at Bodie Ghost Town.

Be aware when accessing this trail that there is a mandatory shuttle to access the trail head.
Because I wasn’t planning on filming this walk, my battery wasn’t fully charged and dies about 5 minutes from the end of the trail but I had my other camera so I added some footage of that onto the end. This was a great trail with only one or two short steep bits and beautiful weather with very little smoke from the forest fires. We also got an early start which meant we missed the later crowds. The falls themselves are pretty nice and peaceful place in the Sierra Nevadas. Both structures are in the Devils Postpile National Monument which is temporarily closed as I write this. Hopefully, it’s not burning.
Enjoy this treadmill virtual walk, workout, and scenery from near Mammoth Lakes, California.

Wikipedia info:
Devils Postpile National Monument is a National Monument located near Mammoth Mountain in eastern California. The monument protects Devils Postpile, an unusual rock formation of columnar basalt. It encompasses 798 acres (323 ha) and includes two main tourist attractions: the Devils Postpile formation and Rainbow Falls, a waterfall on the Middle Fork of the San Joaquin River. In addition, the John Muir Trail and Pacific Crest Trail merge into one trail as they pass through the monument. Excluding a small developed area containing the monument headquarters, visitor center and a campground, the National Monument lies within the borders of the Ansel Adams Wilderness.
