A Virtual Walk Through the University of Arizona’s Campus in Tucson on a Quiet Winter Sunday
If you’re looking for a peaceful virtual walk through a historic and sunny setting, join me as we take a virtual tour of the University of Arizona’s campus in Tucson, Arizona. It’s a perfect walk for the treadmill, an easy way to experience a walk in the city, or just a relaxing way to explore from the comfort of home.
A Quiet Stroll Through the University of Arizona’s Campus
The University of Arizona (UA) is a renowned institution located in the heart of Tucson, a city famous for its desert landscapes, rich history, and vibrant university culture. Established in 1885, UA is the state’s first university and a hub for innovation, research, and education.

On this particular winter Sunday, the campus is calm—students are away, and there’s a quiet beauty to the scene. The sun is shining, casting long shadows on the neatly paved walkways. The desert plants that dot the landscape—towering saguaros, spiky agaves, and soft desert marigolds—stand out vividly against the deep blue sky.
What You’ll See on This Virtual Walk
Our virtual walk takes you past modern buildings, historic landmarks, and landscaped courtyards, offering a mix of urban and desert scenery. Tucson’s unique southwestern charm is evident in the campus architecture, blending contemporary design with elements that reflect the area’s Spanish and Native American heritage. The crisp winter air makes this a refreshing stroll, whether you’re following along outside or just enjoying the virtual treadmill walk at home.

The Route of Our Virtual Walk

I’ll start this walk on E University Boulevard and head west past the McKale Memorial Center. I’ll make a left on North Cherry Avenue and get a glimpse of Arizona Stadium and the Bear Down practice field. We’ll also see the Main Library as we walk west on E 4th Street. We’ll make a right on the N. Santa Rita Ave walking and bike path to the Main Mall and see a charming little native plant garden and Wild Cats Family statue. I’ll make my way over to the Old Main Building and it’s charming fountain for a view of its grand wrap around porch.
A little bit further and we’ll exit the campus for a bit to get a glimpse of the commercial area that we’ll finish up at later. For now, I head north again before turning back east onto campus and past the closed Arizona State Museum. I’ll take you past some more halls and buildings to the North and up into a neighborhood before returning south into some high rises and finishing up amongst the restaurants and coffee shops on Univesity blvd between Park and Euclid.
